FindNorthCarolinaTherapists.com is an independent directory of therapists licensed in North Carolina who work online. It exists to make one thing easier: comparing enough about a therapist to decide whether they might suit you, before you contact anybody.
How it is paid for
This is a commercial directory. It is free to use and carries no advertising, but if you go on to sign up with a therapist through a link here, this site will earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The commission does not change who is listed or the order they appear in.
Who is listed
869 active therapists, every one of them holding a licence issued by a North Carolina board. The credential mix is what a North Carolina pool looks like: LCMHC 407 and LCSW 389 between them are most of it, with LPC, LMFT and LISW-CP behind them. All of them work online through BetterHelp, the platform their details come from.
The areas someone appears under are self-selected: they are categories the therapist chose when setting up their profile. Appearing under one means they have said they work with it, nothing more. If it matters to you, ask them directly.
Why there are no city listings
The source data records the state a therapist is licensed in. It does not record a city, and this directory does not invent one. Every therapist here is licensed by North Carolina, which means they can work with anyone located in North Carolina - so the city pages show which therapists serve that city, not which therapists live there.
That distinction matters enough to state plainly: nobody on this site is described as being based in Charlotte, Raleigh or anywhere else, because we do not know and would not guess.
Where the information comes from
Licence details, the NPI, years in practice, focus areas, approaches and languages come from BetterHelp. We do not collect them from therapists directly.
The written summaries on each profile are produced with the help of AI, working only from those supplied facts, and are written not to add anything that is not in them: no invented specialties, diagnoses, availability or results. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
What this site does not do

If you are listed here and something is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will amend or remove the listing. Therapists can ask to be removed at any time and do not need to give a reason. Removal applies across the whole site, permanently.
